Teaser Film Posters?
The diffrence between a 'teaser' film poster and any normal film poster, is that a teaser poster doesnt need to give information. Only remakes or sequels can use a teaser poster as they have an iconic image. In the examples below we have icons such as Fredy, Jason and the Punisher. In the Fredy's and Jason's case, they are icons to the public, many people know or have heard of them, seeing them on a poster is all the information the viewer needs to that their is another Nightmare on Elm Street. The Punisher is a famouse icon belonging to the marvel comics. Many comic fans will know his symbol, (the skull) and know that there is a kick but Punisher movie on its way. Are last poster is the third Toy Story movie. Not so much an icon on the poster, but the font is very iconic. The font is regonized by many people, and the information '3' tells the viewer that there is a third Toy Story.
In relation to my teaser poster, I will have to follow the rules of 'teaser', which is to give a little information, but enough for the viewer to fully understand the movie. For me to achieve this, I will have to consider my teaser trailer to be a remake or sequel. Only because in order for the poster to complement my trailer, there has to be a regonizable icon.

Paranormal Activity
The trailer is only 14seconds long, and creats 'public panic'. This trailer quickly cuts between scenes to hide what the story of the film and creats tenion for the viewer. Most 'teasers' have a iconic sign to inform the audience what the film is or about. In this particular trailer, the only iconic sign is if you have seen/heard of the first Paranormal Activity. The iconic sign is the way it is filmed/seen by the viewer. The film has been filmed like 'bigbrother', watching over 'house mates'/characters. The producer has probaly decided to film in this way to create more realism for the audiecne.(that it can happen to you to!). Another iconic sign is again taken from the first film, is that the female character gets dragged by a paranormal force, just like in the first film. Like most sequels, there are alot of relations back to the first film. In relation to my advance production, I plan to make my teaser in a simaler way, with the same intetion to create 'public pancic', making my audience watch thw film. Though own expiernce I know that 'public panic' works, as I have seen the first film, and watch the trailer for the first one made me want to see it, at the same time puuting me of seeing the film. This also relates to age rating of the film. Lots of teenagers love to be scared, but are disipointed by most films being a 18. Paranormal Activity dosent use gore to scare its viewer, only a strong sence of realism and physicly making the viewer jump out of their seat. I hope for my product to do the same, but I may bring a little gore into my film, mabey pushing the 15 age rating.
